Default 2008 Valentine 1 hardwire ground spot

Just picked up my 2008 s2000 and I'm installing my valentine 1 radar detector. All the guides on this site say to ground it on a nut with lots of other grounds right near the fuse box....but the 2008 doesn't have this nut...it's just not there. Seems like Honda did some rewiring up near the fuse box.

Has anyone found a good ground spot for their V1 (or equivalent)? I can't seem to find a good one at all. Very frustrating. The rest of the install was a breeze.

The nut with the grounds is there, its just difficult to see. Its waaay up by the ECU.

I just installed mine and used one of the two nuts that hold the hood release handle down onto the body. To use the one I am talking about you need to remove the kick panel though.

where would i get that? im so confused on how to do this with my escort. i dont know whether i should splice a wire or just try to connect it to the fuse box. but either way i dont know which wire would supply enough power or how to connect it to the fuse box.

I managed to bolt it up, but what a pain. Earlier model years look much easier. Thanks Honda! :-P Oh well, I am loving the car.
