These cars actually run on plutonium.
I'm sure that in 1985, plutonium is sold in every corner drug store, but here in 1955 it's a little hard to come by. You may want to rig up a complex series of cables to your local clock tower and attempt to capture a bolt of lightning to feed the flux capacitor in your car the necessary 1.21 gigawatts of power. This is the only way you'll be able to drive it for a sustained period of time.
