Default Hit and run:

As the title suggests, Yesterday I walk out to my S after buying my Mom a birthday card (parked far away from other cars) and find this:

In the 2nd pic you'll notice that black thing under the tire - its the mirror lense and it was lodged under there. My guess is that the car went up in the air breifly during impact and the lense got stuck under there. The steering wheel was locked when I got back in too.

A guy walked up and told me it was a dark red suburban and that the driver got out and looked at my car, then left. The best part: he didnt get the license #, nor did he attempt to go after it to get it, or call the cops!

The door opens and closes fine, I have no idea how, and the window isnt broken, but I wont try to put it down. Oh, and I only have comprehensive coverage which wont cover a hit and run . I am such an idiot.

So if anyone comes across a black drivers door for sale, let me know.

Sorry to hear this man.

What was your exact location? Did you file police report just in case. its usually a waste of time but you never know.

I can't believe the witness did nothing. This happens far to much these days. People just don't seem to care.

Sorry to hear man. That is a terrible thing for anyone to do and walk away from. So the only damage is to the door? No damage on the bottom outer frame? I find it a little amazing that the MF luckily only messed up the door if he was in a suburban. Well, good luck with the repairs and karma will get his ass.

i've gotten hit and run before and it's a terrible feeling. not an s2k but it sucks because you figure people would be stand up citizens and do the right thing. luckily i had insurance to cover it but i know the feeling. my car was also in a parking lot.

on the same subject i swerved to avoid hitting a cat that darted across a side street once and my mirror shattered the mirror of a parked car and nothing else but i had the decency to leave a note and the guy called and i paid him like $80 or something to buy and replace the mirror so sometimes you gotta do the right thing. even though it was the cat that should have opened up his wallet lol

Wow, If I ever saw another person hit a car and try to leave... I'd definitely get that plate number... for the other person's sake. That's so sad, you went to get your mom a card (how sweet) then you come out and your car is mashed! I bet you are keeping an eye out for that Suburban. Hopefully they will receive punishment in another form.. lol.

I'd at least report it to the police. Sometimes in hit and runs they'll send a notice out to surrounding body shops with the vehicle description. If that car shows up then they're supposed to report it to the police. It's a long shot but you never know. That really stinks man... good luck with it.

Nick.. Sorry to hear about the Hit & Run. That just sucks. It just sucks that people are not responsible for their actions nor that the witness did not take the initiative to get more information.

Keep us posted.
