Due to both Teresa and I helping around, pictures are a little slim this time. A big thanks to Dave for stopping by this morning and lending us the use of the floor jacks to make the wheel cleaning SO much easier.
Naturally, a quick wash to start things off
While a few waited their turn.
This detail day was mostly to focus on some of the little things that make a big difference. Everyone got a crash course in cleaning their fender well, tires, rims and making them look fresh and new.
No, sorry, I cant help right now. My hands are full!
Cleaning behind the spokes and between the brakes enhances the look of any rims.
While a few other cars got some extra attention they missed from last time (or totally!)
Interiors were cleaned and leather was treated for others.
"Man, this line takes forever!"
It was nice that Ken was able to stop by and spend some time with the group.
Monica was even able to try her hand at PCing the car to help make it "soft"
Even Geoff was able to get some time to stop by too.
A little Shin-Etsu can work wonders on the rubber seals while Geoff finished up some work before it was time for the family photos.
Ok, get in line everyone!
"But we are Le' Tired!"
Birthday Boy's car
And some epic results
It even impressed the people driving by, but when you pass....
Stop and then back up...
I think we are TOO shiny??
What DID they say Elizabeth?
It was a great day. Everyone worked hard and we got a LOT done.
Congrats to Evan and Monicao on their car's first (and very thorough) detail.
Looking forward to the next one yet?
Thanks for coming over everyone and helping me with my car.
Thanks Marc and Elizabeth for helping me with my clutch fluid...it was too much fun...I had a great time doing it, I think I still have a stomach ache from laughing so hard. I don't think Marc is EVER going to ask 2 girls to help him with anything ever again.
I had a great time and ended the day with a super shiny car, can't beat that. I can't wait till Spring detail day...I think I'm hooked on detail day.
Ok I while I am uplading my pics (very very slow tonight) I will give my little write up of the event.
We started the morning with the meet and hellos to all our friends. We took a few minutes in the kitchen to scarff down some donut holes.
We turned on the water to wash the first car about 8:45.... Many of the cars attending recieved claybar and PCing in the spring so they only got a good coat of wax.
We decided to start on the car that needed the most work. So the first car to get wet was Evan and Monicas (not picking on you guys) . They were both excited to get to dig into learning by doing to clean their car.
Here is my car when I packed it last night since Paul has requested this shot.
the day started out like we were watching a black and white tv (silvers, black and white cars only)
Monica suppervising Evan cleaning the wheel wells.
we even had enough time to clean and dress under the hood.
Now some pics of the clean cars after all the washing, scrubbing, polishing, and waxing.
AHHHHHHHHH this image looks like I am falling over...........
I just can't go anywhere with out the damn paparazzi following......
one last image of my car with the trees and corn in the background.
No reason to, Garret. One or two more detail days and we're going to have them so well trained and the cars so clean and well-protected that they will only need a 10 minute wash before any drive to show up sparkling (right Amy?).
