Default detailers... i give you much respect

back in feb or so, i took the meguiars class with a handful of s2k'ers
i bought a bunch of meguiars product (about $350 worth)

since then, i have been busy with life.... havent had time to get around to detailing the car.

finally, this past weekend, i decided to give it a go.
forgot some of the minor things mentioned in class but for the most part, it was RE-learn as i went

i had so many swirls and i think after all these years, i realized that it probably came from me drying with the absorber... i came to this conclusion after i got my hardtop, it was perfect. one night, when it was cold, the top had some condensation on it. i wiped it down and the next day i saw swirls! now i have a new way of drying that i will mention later

started at 11am with cleaning my rims and then a wash and a clay job. took about an hour

so now, i have decided to dry by using a leaf blower and then softly drying with a microfiber cloth to keep rubbing to a minimum

then i took my g110 polisher and the meguiars 80 speed glaze and started the polish. went from 12pm to 12am...!!!

dont ask, it was just painful. i think i got about 70% correction. i give you much props for getting 100% correction!

anyways, finished it off with the nxt 2.0 wax which made the finish ultra smooth....

so to all you guys that do this for a living, or do it more than once every 3 months, my hats off to you guys....

I dab with a chamois (sp?) and then wipe ultra lightly with a micro fiber towel when I dry. I'm not sure how well it works, but I hear that's how a lot of the people from the wash and wax section do theirs. I don't know how well it's working, because I bought my car used and it had swirls already.

I'm waiting until 50k to do a full detail job such as this. Post some pics if you get a chance, I too have much respect for those that can make their cars look better than new. 12 hours sounds about right for such a job from what I've heard.
