I started ordering and collected everything weeks ago, finally crammed in the work this last thurs-mon.
Inventory-JVC SH 707J Head, cadence 6.5 and tweets for the doors + lucids 6.5 adapters,
wlaurents dual trunk corner sub enclosures w/ 8" rf punch,
250 watt rf "power" amp for the subs
The work was easy to do, if you are experienced in stereo installs and not bad if you are a patient and dextrous do it yo selfer.
I am not gonna show photos cause lucid ,wlaurent and others have done alot of nice ones that are simple to find on our site.
The door panels snap off easy with a minimum of fuss and the door speaker/tweeter mounts are easy to modify and lucids adapter makes the 6.5 upgrade a snap. I desoldered the tweeter leads from the my 2002 old oem tweeters and used those to drive both speakers in the door without having to come up with any generic honda connector adapters. The cadence kit comes with a crossover box and there is a nice plastic chamber in the door that gives a handy place to mount extra hw like that and route all wires from the hu, and each speaker/tweet.
The JVC 707 is a slam dunk in place of the oem hu. It uses the same brackets and matches up perfectly with the s2k's stereo cover. I got this unit because of it;s moderate price $225,
50w by 4, separate pre amp outs/ sub woof out, 7band eq, sub wooof cutoff and level control, nice mp3 action, auxialiary face input for my portable rio 500 mp3 player.
Oh yeah it sounds pretty good too 4 the price
Probably the most time consuming job is to run the wires from the head unit back to the trunk for the sub woofer amp. I also ran wires for a rear set of speakers for the future. The Console is an easy removal, just take off the shifter ball and the console can be gently pryed up with the ubiquitous electrical taped screwdriver. Unsnap the wires and remove.
Pull the spare tire out and looking from the rear foward move the insulation outa the way and you can see clear through under the rear console/storage with the naked eye. Stick a hanger in attach your wires from the other end and gently pull me hearties! The tougher part is threading all your wires past the stick shift over and arround it and up over the srs cpu for a clean connect to the head unit.Tip- make sure you have a can of silicon spray to help lube things up. After you pull all these wires test things out b4 buttoning up. I forgot this vital step and had to go back in for a bum rca cable.

How does it sound, Well William Laurents sub enclosures have to be the slickest setup for the s2k. Here's his thread https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=53642
The sealed sub enclosures and rf gear really rock and the JVC and Cadence speakers are great . I think the car really needs an extra two speakers somewheres behind the seats in order to lower the levels and up the presence and Lucid has the famous kit for that as most of you know and his ad is probably right up above if you scroll up!
For myself I ended up with a real nice pair of cadence 5.25's with fat magnets too fat for lucids trick, so i'm gonna look arround before I give up on it as I thought I noticed a way to mount them and I like big magnets if given the choice
Hope my experience gives someone a road map and this all cost me $1050. I will probably add an amp for the front satellites at some point in the future too.
Oh don't ask me about the remote controls cause i think they are a waste of space and i've got other plans for that panel by the starter button!
PS I couldn't stand it so i just finished installing my 5.25 cadence speakers with the fat magnets behind the seats. Wouldn't reccommend this for the amateur. Job came out good, probably not quite as clean as a smaller speaker but boy now my system is well rounded and sounds quite clear an 70mph with the top down or less. Four satellites is the way 2go. I can wait for an amp for the front but that will be the final touch.

I love the JVC 707. I have two of them ... one in the S2000 and the other in my Mustang. Great MP3 player and powerful.

Rossmon congrats on a clean set up. I went with 5.25 rears behind the seat. Fat magnets are good. I used a 1" spacer. I am short and don't sit with my seat in the "rollin' in the esclade" position. So clearance is OK. I tell my passengers that their seat is not adjustable. Thinking about WL 8's.

i installed this way back in june. look at the date next to my 1st post. Every so often i give the thread to someone new for advice/ideas and it gets resurrected. BTW the cadence speakers i got from you are very nice
I am now finally adding a blaupunkt pa4100 amp for the front satellites and will add the update to my thread when done sometime in the next 6 months.

I finally added the Blaupunkt PA4100 amp. It is being used to drive the satellites, two cadence mid/tweeter passive xover kits for the doors and 2 cadence titanium 5.25's for behind the seats. This IS the finishing touch I can now hear the front speakers much more clearly over the car created noise. I installed the amp in its plastic box over and to the left of the fuel tank. There is plenty of room to mount two amps in that spot and it is nice and hidden to keep down on theft temptations. I may move my subwoofer amp there as well to get it out of the trunk area completely.
As far as cramming four more rca cables and speaker wires in the narrow hole under the head unit and back through the center tunnel. I undid the screws (3 of them) for the SRS brain enough to move it arround. This gave alot more wiggle room to pass all the wires thru easily. Then I just tightned up the screws and cleanly done!
