Default has anyone maxed out fuel system on walbro pump?

Im just curious if anyone has maxed out the walbro pump on a return type fuel system? If so about what power level did it start to lose fuel pressure in higher rpms?

I used a single Walbro 255 high pressure in tank pump for my Bonneville Landspeed RSX with twin Rotrex superchargers along with a Kenne Bell Boost a pump which increased voltage to 18V under boost. http://www.kennebell.net/accessories/boost.../boostapump.htm

The car ran between 650 and 770 HP all year sustaining 9000-9500 RPM with no drop in fuel pressure.

Here's a two minute 650 HP full throttle run:

A post made by full blown a while back.

With 1 pump and a set of 1000cc on e85 we were able to get 420hp on our dyno. On two pumps and 1600s we started to run out of injector at about 660hp. This was on a b series btw

Link to thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=671626&st=0

So 420hp is approx what you can get from one walbro with 1000cc injectors and rest stock. This is 420 E85 which is well over 500 gas.

I guess thats about it.
Remember big injectors help as you can have a a slightly lower fuel pressure and still get enough fuel past them.

don't forget that guy was using E85 as well - i dont know if that would make a difference or not but it's probably something to consider. it's also a B motor too!!!! just a minor oversight.

a B series is less efficient than a F20, so for the amount of fuel used, less will be shown as "whp". I would go more by actual flow. What is the equation we need to find that out? If we know the pump is a 255 liter per minute. With a 6 size fuel feed 8 return? and 1000cc injectors and a 40psi FPR (vacuum) we could in theory work out the flow.

e85 lowers the capabilities of injectors and pumps. need to upsize when using e85. more fuel to do the same thing. but you can max out higher with e85 then 93 pump piss. with a turbo/super setup, everything being equal except larger injectors and maybe a pump.

i thought the walbro pump was good for about 550whp in an f20. after that i see people doing the crazy dual pump setups.
