Default ScienceofSpeed Racing Heat Exchanger for S2000

ScienceofSpeed Racing Heat Exchanger

http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/eng...hanger_upgrade/

The ScienceofSpeed Racing Heat Exchanger replaces the smaller standard heat exchanger used in the ScienceofSpeed, Comptech, and Vortech supercharger systems and is ideally suited to racing or high boost applications.

The heat exchanger, mounted in the front of the car, is used to dissipate heat from the coolant that circulates between the aftercooler (intercooler) and the heat exchanger by the way of the water pump.

This larger aluminum dual pass heat exchanger increases the surface area and volume of the core by 360% over the standard heat exchanger. The dual pass design allows longer dwell time in the core for increased cooling efficiency. Unlike other "upgrades" available, this heat exchanger is properly sized and constructed for heat exchanger use, allows sufficient air flow to the factory radiator, and is reasonable in weight (only 1.2 lbs heavier than the standard heat exchanger). No cutting or modification is required to factory sheet metal for installation.

The heat exchanger mounts to factory mounting locations and features a rubber isolated mounting design for strength and durability and billet aluminum hose fittings. The kit includes the heat exchanger, mounting components, and hose grommet seals. The heat exchanger is compatible with existing hoses (3/4" / 19mm). Additional hose may be required for installation (available at any autoparts store). ScienceofSpeed recommends upgrading the standard water pump from the Comptech supercharger system to a higher capacity pump used in the ScienceofSpeed supercharger system (available below).

Any pricing on just the water pump? Does this outperform the Spearco heat exchanger that was previously offered by an old sponsor?

hi,
first of all,the time that i upgraded the radiator for the aftercooler i tought that maybe we were upgrading one part only and that it wasnt enough.
is it possible that even if we do upgrade the Front exchanger the inner one in the aftercooler isnt enough to do a better job no matter how big of an exchanger we mount?
also even that i got the exchanger from spearco, whats the difference beteen it and this one in raw terms?

I believe you're asking if upgrading the heat exchanger and leaving the aftercooler core the same is worth it.

In our testing, yes. The core used in the ScienceofSpeed, Comptech, and Vortech kits outweigh the performance of the standard heat exchangers used for anything above the standard 6 psi of these systems. It is very easy to upgrade the heat exchanger where upgrading the aftercooler would be much more difficult. It is logical to upgrade the part that makes the biggest difference and is the easiest and least costly to upgrade.

There used to be a huge bar and plate heat exchanger offered by another vendor (maybe this is the one you are asking about?) This was very expensive, heavy, had a high pressure drop for air passing through to the radiator, and not ideally suited to the application.

Do those heat exchangers come in different color options as the first post shows?

Do they have the SOS badging like the black one shows?

EDIT, found it myself:

The heat exchanger is available in bare aluminum or painted (black epoxy with or with the ScienceofSpeed logo).
