Default f20 pistons vs f22 pistons

I have searched and searched and I can not find any discussion about the differences in the pistons. Just looking at them it is extremely easy to see the differences. Ill post pics soon. What would the outcome be of taking a f22 block and swapping in the f20 pistons. A buddy of mine said he called up Hytech and they said it would result in a ~12:1 compression ratio 2.2 liter beast. I am kinda doubting it but what does everyone else think of this idea?

btw for me to do this wont be much more work. Im already swapping my motor and building a f22 frankenstein motor.

just a thought but what would happen if you put a f22 block with an f20 head.. will this do anything?

I believe the f22 pistons are shorter than the f20 pistons. The f22 has a longer stroke so the rod ends move closer to the heads. The shorter pistons allow for proper piston to head clearance. Chances are that f20 pistons would hit the head in a f22 engine.

I am doing exactly this right now.

Basically I'm using the f20 head because my f22 block is from a dbw motor and it is machined differently and doesnt have the air injection system. Also the ap1 cams slightly more aggressive than the ap2 cams. Only part from the ap2 head I am going to use is the intake retainers because I guess they are stronger than the ap1 retainers. After I get tuned with kpro I will see if you can make power on a f22 all the way up to 9k basically

There are no differences in the heads but the f20 pistons are definitely taller.

well, this is completely talking outta my a**, 1/2 joke, but maybe one could put f22 pistons in an f20 and end up with a lower CR engine...

Sure, if you want lower CR for more boost, why not?

Have you guys looked at what aftermarket manufacturers are doing?

It's true the USDM AP1 pistons will increase your CR to about 12:1. The JDM AP1 pistons will increase it to more like 12.5:1. They are obviously differently shaped from the AP2's pistons.
