Default DIY rear bumper vents

it was nice weather today and i finally got around to finish up this project. i was going to get the whole rear bumper repainted but i decided to use touch up paint for now. i used satin black on the single exhaust cap but didn't think it was going to be that glossy. will see how it works out at the track in a few weeks. here are some pics.

Looks very good.

Could you explain the functionality? Does a cooler bumper equal more horsepower?

It's probably just so air coming from under the car gets stuck in the bumper and gives drag and maybe lifts the car... is that right?

I think this best describes it, it describes how a diffusor works but it's also somewhat the same for this cutted bumper...

Diffusers work in conjunction with other aerodynamic components of a car to help produce downforce. Because a car displaces air as it moves forward, the air molecules in the rear of the car get disrupted causing a vacuum of low pressure air.
To help channel the high speed air flow coming from underneath the car, diffusers redirects the high speed air flow to transition smoothly transition into the low pressure vacuum in the rear. This encourages a smoother flowing air flow underneath the car and allows better performance from other aerodynamic components such as aerodynamic wings.

It helps with that vacuumized air in the rear, best way to describe this is- it's like a unbrella that's been cut for better air flow.

you are correct. the s2k rear bumper is pretty wide open allowing it to trap air like a parachute and create a lot of drag. the vents allow high pressure air to escape. a well design rear diffuser will also prevent air from getting trapped in the rear bumper. this is nothing new, it has been done before. most after market rear bumper comes with vents.
