Somewhat custom build that started with a manifold
Hi, the past few days I have been starting to build a manifold that hopefully will fit with help of the AC line relocation kit. If I end up in a dead end I will try to either build a sidewinder style mani, or just build of slightly smaller piping, and being able to build narrower. The pipes I use now roughly represent the area of the exhaust valves.
The placement of the turbo is in the same location as the ILP cast manifold, I used that one as measure.
Now to my question. Seeing that I have the 38mm WG that came with the ILP kit, how should I route the WG pipe into the collector? I am thinking angeled so the exhaust gases can easy take the WG path instead of getting forced into the turbo.
As I will use electronic boost control I guess its no harm if its very easy for the flow to find the WG route. Am I right? THe last thing I want is boost creep due to restricted WG.
I will route my WG into the downpipe.
Will also fabricate my own custom 3" to dual 2" or 2,5" exhaust.

Because dual pipes 2,5" equals larger flow area than single 3" and 2" dual is slightly smaller. 7sq" vs 6,2sq" approx. As The gases will shrink when getting colder in the exhaust, I am thinking that dual 2" from the split, will not be any noticeable restriction. Might even maintain ~same velocity of flow.
The plan is to use 3" DP, 3" piping and a 3" "on pipe" muffler before the split. Then a nice split into smaller pipes and use a separate end muffler at those pipes. Preferably end mufflers that works good with the shape of the body. Elliptical ones would be nice.

I would not decrease to a 2" pipe after the split. 2.5" is fine.
I am building my exhaust @ the moment, and am doing a full 3" exhaust to the mufflers, then @ the tip of the muffler going to a 3" --> 2.5" reducer for the tips so I can reuse the stock tips.

look at the latest fullrace manifold. see what they do. im sure they had boost creep issues that made them change the design a few times. also i would use a bigger wastegate. sell off your 38 and get a tial 44.
The design didnt work, too little space towards the fusebox. So here is the changed version. Turbo placement is identical as inlinepro cast manifold. Note that I am using the AC relocation kit to make this work. I hope to see nice benefit over the cast ILP manifold power wise.

Also building my own free flowing stainless exhaust. 3" to dual 2,5". Turning out good I think.

run as large a wastegate as you can physically fit. Also try and decrease the angle at which the wastegate tube comes off the collector. Both of these will greatly increase the ability to control boost at lower boost pressures. Looks great though! My next project is to teach myself welding.
