Jim asked me to post pics, so here we go. For those who are new, I have been restoring an Austin Healey for the past 13 years or so. This is a complete frame-off restoration. Anyway, the bodywork and paint were done years ago. After the paint hardened, it was sanded with 3000 to 4000 grit wet sand paper. This was done to "flatten" the orange peel that all paint jobs have straight out of the spray gun. You might see posts where people complain about that on their Honda paint jobs. The next step is a series of paint buffings to remove the fine sanding marks until you get a "clear" paint job.
