Default i got a ticket and its bs

well heres the story. we got home yesterday and went out into the pasture and saw one of our horses was laying down. No biggie shes probrally just rolling. well we walk out there and shes not getting up when we walk up to her. we get some feed and try to get her to get up and she still wasent. i put her halter on and pull her up and she finally gets up. i feel around her stomach and felt a knot. i listened and didnt hear any stomach sounds(common for a horse). it meant she was calicing. (for people that dont know calicing is: horses cant throw up and what happenes is she ate some grass or some hay and didnt drink enoughf, her intestine gets cloged and the gasses build up behind. its very painfull and sometimes fatal cauising the stomach to flip. all you can do is walk them and hope it can work its way out). well my moms here walking her and i get sent to go get some mineral oil up at the local piggly wiggly. (it coats the inside of the intestine and makes it easer to pass). i get in my car and leave. im hurring and im going 73 in a 55 on the highway. i see a cop and i knew he was comiing at me. i pulled over he asked for lisence and registration and proff of insurance. i had it out and gave it to him. and i told him the situation. he walked back to his car without a word. now remember the piggly wiggly is only 4 miles from my house and i live in the middle of nowhere. after about 15 minutes he came back and gave me a ticket. i just looked at him and couldnt believe he gave me a ticket because my damn horse is dying and im just trying to hurry and help her. and calicing is very very painfull for the horse. i just leave and go to the pig and come home. but after walking her from 7 p.m. to about 1 in the morning all of us tired and shes about to fall asleep we put her in the stall. we moved the area that was cloged up with our hand trying to help move it through the intestines. we woke up this morning and she had a nice pile of crap sitting htere. so shes gonna be ok.

but my question is why would a cop give me a ticket for a ligimate excuse like that? i know i was breaking the limit but the person behind me was going faster than i was. of course he picks out the sports car. but i just dont understand how some people dont have a single bit of compasion.

thanks for the read!!.

Glad the horse is ok but you were still speeding. Like it or not, the speed for that particular road is designated for safety reasons. You were almost 20mph over. There is no exception in the law that allows you to speed when retrieving something for a sick animal.

^What he said.

He doesnt care about your sick horse, I dont care about your sick horse, the judge wont care about your sick horse. Notice a pattern?

Yeah, it sucks and it isnt fair, but unfortunately nothing is ever really fair. Just pay the fine, and be thankful the horse is ok.

Because you're breaking the law.

Because it's not really a valid excuse. You said the store is only 4 miles from your house, so your speeding if you had not gotten caught would have only shaved off less than one minute each way off of the trip. As it was, you ended up taking longer because of your speeding. Maybe you ought to buy a radar detector.

kinda like that football player that his mom was dying...

...im guessing that cops are used to getting alot of fake/makeshift excuses that when actual circumstances occur you get treated like the boy that cried wolf.

granted you are in the middle of no where with an excuse but yeah breaking the posted speed limit, in the eyes of the cop you're endangering people for an alleged life of a horse.

people > horse

first of all... cops hear millions of bullshit excuses. he has no way of proving yours. unless there is a death of a person occuring most cops will still give you a ticket.

2nd. you can say all that to a DA or Judge but most of them will laugh at you. shit i know i would.

thats no where near what happened to the football player. that was just a racist cop being a fckn prick. if that was me i woulda told the cop to go **** them selves and walk into the hospital. go ahead and tow my ****n car. i give props to that football player to staying relatively calm.
