Default 205s in the rear?!

holy hell...i just got my rear tires replaced yesterday and found out that whoever owned the car before had potenza s03 pole position 205s!!!! in the rear...i couldnt believe it when the tire guy went out to my car and was like okay so we need 205's for the back....i was like uhhh..no way, i need 245s for the back if you dont have the OEM tires....but anyways, they didnt have any 245s in any brand so i just opted to go with 225s. i went with BF Goodrich Traction T/A V rated. anyone have any experience with these...i realize that they are not as wide as the OEM tires since they are not 245's but will i at least get better handling than the 205 s03s that were on there before?

well in that case im not too worried....i dont plan on tracking my car for a while so i guess the BFG will suffice for now..i was just worried about this whole 225/245 thing...from reading other posts, people make it seem like the car is almost undriveable with non OEM 225 rears.

That point is TREMENDOUSLY overstated, IMO.

Next time you need tires, give a holler in the Wheel/Tire Forum and you will get steered in the right direction. Or just mill around the Tire Rack website, they have vast amounts of test data and consumer reviews.

I had those tires on my boosted CRX in 195/60-14 i think and they lasted me through BC winter (over a foot of snow at times) amazingly 2 years ago and I didn't get stuck once. I wouldnt use them as a summer tire but they made a great all season (on my CRX at least).
