Default Hood prop/support too heavy

We need a custom made hood prop that is half the weight of the stock one. Also waiting on a set of titanium bolts and screws possibly made by Spoon.
Any one have any ideas?

Guys, I can advise you on how to lighten your car and still keep it streetable and keep it nice for dates. In fact the untrained eye will not even notice or see it.

" Nor will the scale that doesn't read to micrograms"

You are as obviously mislead as the other guy.

when you add up the micrograms it makes hundreds of pounds.

Given that we have ~200hp and a ~2800lb car, you need to remove 14lbs of weight to get the effect of adding even 1 lousy horsepower.

If you want to save serious weight:
-- get lightweight wheels (save 20lbs, $2000)
-- remove spare tire and tools (22lbs, I think someone posted, free)
-- titanium exhaust (save up to 32lbs, $1000 for the cheapest)

Total = 74lbs...which corresponds to a lousy 5hp for about $3000. Why not go buy a supercharger for $4500 and get 90hp?

14 lbs is close but i think it may be slightly lower.
Ask some of these guys who weighed their car, it is more like 2750.
you need to focus on not just upping the hp but dropping the weight.

I can easily remove 150 lbs ( static weight) and then another 50 lbs with a little more effort.
Trust me 150 lbs makes a noticeable difference in acceleration and the car will look and handle GREAT.

when you remove rolling weight or turning weight it will almost equal double that amount in static weight.

You are missing the big picture!
I can tell you how to lose much more than you listed.
Every little thing counts.

You can lighten you battery and hold down by 15 lbs
You can lighten your brakes by 28 lbs
Comptech frame parts,
Spoon titanium and swing arms.
Seats,
I could tell you more!

Er....

The only Titanium bolts I can find that Spoon makes are the bolts for the Radiator Bracket. If you got the bolts and bracket, you're saving a whopping 49 grams. Thats about .09 lbs. So you're right. It adds up. Of course, you'd have to replace ten equal brackets to save a lbs.

How much do those cost? $30?
