Talimena Scenic Drive w/ Ark-La-Tex S2Ks
The dates are set, but the plans are still in the works. Just wanted to let you all know and see how many of you would be interested in going. FYI, humbles2k and I are actually planning on leaving around 10am on Friday, June 19th and staying the night in Mena both Friday and Saturday nights.Hotel info: (added 5/5/09)
Here's where humbles2k and I have reservations currently: Sun Country Inn. $79 + tax per night is their standard rate.

my dad's new cabin is right by beaver's bend state park. i'll be down there for sure! might be able to get a group together and have a cookout or something one of the days.

my dad's cabin is now finished and ready for rent. its got a hot tub and wifi and everything. pretty damn nice. here's a link to it:

Wow, nice! humbles2k and I already have a room reserved in Mena, although if there's enough interest and if you can work some kinda deal (i.e. if it's open that weekend), I might be able to pursuade him to let me change where we stay.
I just added some info to the first post regarding a hotel in Mena... in case the whole cabin thing doesn't work out.

yeah, it definitely wouldn't be as convenient as staying in mena, like i said, its about 45 miles straight south of the middle of the drive. it is pretty cool country though driving to and from.
as far as a deal, the management company that is running it is kinda the ones that dictate that. i'll talk to my dad later this week and get more info about a possible hookup. we are kinda new to this whole thing. the cabin has just been completed like 2 weeks ago or so, we're still feeling out what we can/can't do :-P
