Spent some time translating the manufacturing process that goes into ASM body parts production at the Challenge Technology Center. Maybe this will help shed some light into why these items are a bit pricey. It may also be some good ammo for those countless authentic vs. replica threads.

ASM Dry Carbon and Fiberglass products are designed and produced at the Challenge Technology Center in Japan. They are produced with the same approach to dry carbon products as OEM to many major japanese car manufacturers using pre-impregnated carbon materials. Design and production involve the use of CAD modeling, cutting plotters, 5-axis 3-D mills, high-pressure autoclaves, and water-jet cutters. Many other high end JDM brands and manufacturers also utilize these facilities for their production of carbon products such as Mugen, Nismo, Tom's, Central 20, and Auto EXE. The Nissan OEM dry carbon undertray for the GT-R is also produced here.
