Default MEET: Outdoor Karting @ Pacific GP

The forcast for this Saturday is Sunny and Seventy. Let's go Karting!

For some background on the facility we have an active discussion thread
http://www.pacificgp.com

WHEN:
Saturday May 27th, 2009 @ 2pm

WHERE:
Google Maps link to Pacific Racways
Pacific Raceways is located between Covington and Auburn on HWY 18. There are Highway signs immediately before the exit that state "Pacific Raceways next exit." Take the 304th ST exit and head east. The track entrance is clearly visible with large billboard signage. Unless you specifically want to setup a caravan down, we are meeting in the track paddock at 2pm. I recommend showing a little earlier so you can complete signup and get orientated.

When entering Pacific Raceways, stay in the right hand lane. The road will eventually come to a "T." Turn right entering the area surrounded by chain link fence. This will lead into the unpaved parking lot for the Kart racing track. The parking lot is loose gravel and also features robust quantities of dust.[LIST][*] If you are planning on washing your car this weekend, do it after you go to the track. You will get dusted. [*] Remember to drive slow as the parking lot surface is loose. I saw one driver slide dangerously close to the fencing when he over estimated the available traction. You don't want to be "that guy" this weekend.

WHAT TO WEAR
Clothing Requirements per Pacific GP:[LIST][*] Long pants, no shorts[*] Long sleeved shirts or jacket[*] Closed toed shoes[*] Long hair must be secured[*] Minimum height is 4

Have fun guys. I'm out of this sort of thing for the next month or two, but I'd like to try it sometime after I'm healed up.

I will say that when I went two Saturdays ago at about this time the track was dead. There were about 10 people there and we practically had the track to ourselves. The weather was amazing and I was very perplexed.

Perhaps now word has gotten out and this won't be the case again, but either way I'm really looking forward to Saturday!

Doubtful, but there's a chance I may be able to get a run or two in before I have hockey.

They only take cash or credit cards. So you are good to go.
