Default Octane Motorsports

I figured I'd share about a transaction I had with a company called Octane Motorsports in Fair Oaks California.

Heres the link to the hardtop I bought from them:

Excellent fitment and quality? Thats a complete joke. Anyone looking into buying a hard top don't buy this one. The fitment is poor the hardware kit doesn't even match up to the holes. Bolts are to small for the hardware itself and most importantly their Customer Service is HORRIBLE.

When I first purchased the hard top I didn't recieve the lower hard top seal. Took numerous calls and 2-3 months later to recieve it. Finally had it put on by a good reputable body shop. Fitment was bad. Had to have the body shop work their magic to make it fit. Alot of time invested still not a good fitment. Finally found out the window doesn't fit. That was pretty much my last straw and decided to call them about the situation.

Called up and talked to the sales rep that I originally put the order in with. By the way there is only 2 employees there. Names are Dee and Alex.

Told Dee the situation and he told me to send pictures of the problems. I sent the pictures the next day and told me he "had to get in touch with the manufacturer of the hard top." First off Octane motorsports took my $2260 and he wants me to wait for a third party to get in touch with him? What kind of customer service is that?

Called 2 weeks straight 3 phone calls a day. Talked to his other employee named Alex and kept telling me Dee wasn't around and that Dee was the only one that could deal with my transaction. Sounds kind of shady that hes conveniently not at his business for that long of a period.

Now I'm up to this point where I filed a complaint to california better business bureau and in the process of calling my aunt thats a lawyer.

Anyone else have any input would be appreciated

Damn that sucks for you. I was actually looking into buying a hardtop from them too. Thanks for the heads up and good luck with that.

I'm very wary of small tuner shops / businesses. It's pretty hit or miss.

Caveat Emptor.

Let's see: hardtops from reputable vendors cost what? $2500? So your %800 hardtop wasn't top quality. Go figure.
