It apparently sold out in Japan and the US within days.

I'm not entirely sure that a Litchfield jobbie with the AST suspension and a few other tweaks wouldn't be as good.

But the DC2 alone showed that there IS a market for such cars; it's crazy it's taken Honda so long not to create the Mugen department over here.

I'd probably sooner have an RX-8, but I welcome the choice!

Quite.

Fuel consumption aside, the RX-8 is staggering value for money at the moment. A friend has recently bought a new one for his wife - on a '58 plate from a dealer with 10 miles on it for

Not wrong!

I was looking at an enthusiast-owned strato blue with all the bling on: '04 for about 8 1/2 K. One of those cars that seems to be screaming"yoo-hoo! I'm straight!" out of the screen at you.

K. didn't want to part with her Civic, though!

Must have a drive of a RX8. Doubt I'd buy one but really ought to experience the engine. Oil and petrol be damned but secondhand it's a lot of car for the money for sure. The four seat/suicide rear door layout is rather clever too.

That was my rationale - oddly enough!

The car is a sort of close-coupled 2+2 cross between a nutter S2000 and a benign MX-5. The high-revving engine, superb driving position, perfect pedals, etc are all very familiar.

It's about the size of a Prelude, but very different: More of a sports car than a GT coupe or a slobby boring saloon with the roof squashed in type thing.

They're one of those 'right to drive' cars; do give it a go!
