Was wondering which forum to post this in, so I figured this would be the best one b/c it falls into some problems I ran into with fitment of spoon calipers and tires (cheap ones and the spare tire).
I resently attended the speedventures timetrial event at willow springs raceway on July 12th. It was a very hot day and that track is very fast, my first time out there. First off, the tires I had up front were Hankook Ventus Plus size 205/55 Z rated. These are cheap tires and all I could do when I first got the wheels. Later would I know what a mistake I made. They were not completely bald, as you guys will see in the pics. Tire pressure was checked at the gas station when I filled up for the drive home, set at 32psi, tires were semi-cold. Besides the tread seperating, I had the problem of mounting the spare tire due to the spoon caliper in the way. I needed to use a 15mm spacer provided via my friend that drove out to hwy14 at 8pm on a friday night to bail me out.
The only thing I can think of is that the tire was a shitty cheap ass tire=tread seperation.
-Ardy, a guy who will never buy hankook tires for the rest of his life
this is where we were BFE (middle of no where), in carpool side of hwy14 me on phone talking to my friend who will bring spacers, I should've taken a crap while I was in this position.
Here I am walking to find the tread portion of the tire that few off
and where would that tire be??? about 100 yards back
screw cheap tires
and where my friend and I waited for 2 hours for my buddy to show up with spacers, we moved to the other side of the freeway to safer location curtiousy of CHP

lol, it was actually 13mm, and thread wise, it was more than enough, I got like 5 turns. Don't let those lug nuts fool you. They look like they are barely on, just the effect that hollow lugs will have.
