Default Bike hitch on a s2000?

I'm getting rid of my daily driver for the s2k but I really don't want to give up the bike hitch since the wife and I enjoy biking still. I just need a light duty hitch for my bikes won't ever be towing anything. Any suggestions?

Time to whore some pics. I used the Chase Race hitch + Thule T2 mount since I also have a downhill bike. A trunk mount one would rip off pretty quick with a 50lb bike.

This guy is selling his Hammerly Hitch (same design as the Chase Race) for $250.

Buy a rattle can of black paint and you're all set.

If you're only going to be carrying bikes (and a bike rack of course), then you don't have to go with an expensive hitch system. Most of the pricey ones are intended for towing a somewhat heavy trailer. For example, the Chase system has a max recommended trailer weight of 1000lbs and a tongue weight of 200lbs.

There are simple systems that even bolt to your trunk bottom and bumper supports that can support a bike rack. Just take caution if you tow something heavier, as some of the cheaper systems might put stress on parts that can't take it. I've seen pics where the trunk pan started to tear.

So what year S are you looking for a hitch? I ask because there are 2 types/style of hitch for the 00-03 and 04 and above

Then ...... Take a look at these threads to get familiar with what others have done RE: a hitch, trailer, towing, and or bike rack .......

For me ..... I just installed a $35 Curtis Maufacturing hitch I bought on ebay on MY 2004. I call it the "stealth" look as I followed the guidelines proviced by PicturePro in one of the above threads ....
