Default Cigarette Lighter

I have a 2001 S2000. I would like to replace the power outlet (s/b cig lighter) with a lighter. I have the lighter but can not figure how to get the storage console loose so I can get behind and put the lighter workings on. I removed all the screws I can find but it will not come out. Can anyone tell me how to get it loose?

Are you sure you have ALL the screws out? Do you have a shop manual?

There is a small rear cover on the back which you have to remove it from the backside! (I think two screws) And under that rear cover (on the back of the storage console), I think there might be 3 screws holding by the secret compartment tray. (Yes! Secret compartment is another unit inside of the storage console; you can remove the whole storage console and still have the secret compartment tray bolted onto the car-held by 4 hex scres (2 on the front and two on the rear)

There are 4 (flate head) screws on the top of the console right under the secret compartment lid.

There is a screw inside the "Glove compartment" (Next to the trunk lid switch is located); then, there are two screws on both side of that compartment (on the outside).

There are also two screws underneath the center console which covers the storage console.

So, about total of 14 screws? (without removing the secret compartment tray)

I hope that helps? If not, I could take some pictures tomorrow! I have the complete storage console, roll hoop covers, vent panel behind the seats, convertible tray, and the complete trunk liner removed to save weight!

remove 4 screws from the top(under the lid)

1 screw from the inside of the "Glove" compartment

2 screws on both sides

Detail shot of the slots on both side under the screw. (You'll need to remove the panel "Roll bar lower trim" behind the seats. See pic 4 above)

And finally the 2 screws on the bottom (You'll have to pull up the center console-two clips)

You guys need to purchase the SHOP MANUAL. it's only around $85! (If you can afford the $32,000 car, you should be able to get the shop manual if you want to DO IT YOURSELF) It is very good purchase for the money if you want to do most the work yourself and save money without braking or scratch your car!

I have been post a lot of pics from the manual, I hope there is not a copy right issue? I haven't charge anyone yet!

Ordered from Helms, and I thought that is the manual that the Honda Tech use? Because there are other body repair manual and electrical manual for our S2000 only sold to the dealers!

That's a relief. I though maybe you disassembled your car just to answer a board member's question. That would have been above and beyond the call of duty.

Can you possibly post the ISBN and title for this manual? So far enquiries I made here in the UK have drawn a complete blank.

Many thanks.
