Default 3M headlight restoration kit

The last part of my car to restore was the headlights, they were terrible. Got this 3M headlight restore kit. It worked great. sort of hard to tell in the pics, but the change is remarkable, and it only took an hour or so.

Here's the kit I bought from Autozone, $20 and totally worth it.

Step 1, 500 grit, no going back now.

Step 2, 800 grit

Step 3, 3000 grit

Step 4, polish

I found the secret to the fine polish was more speed, I had to move to a faster drill. Used the slow drill for steps 1,2,3, and the super drill for step 4. says it goes 2600 rpm, but who knows.

Wow that looks like it came out great. I like the first step, the (no going back now) thats what I was thinking. I know I will need to be doing this soon. Good Job!

I agree that speed helps but be careful not to use too much speed. The polishing pad get hot and falls apart quickly
