Default VSA (!) and Brake are all on

The past week or two the VSA, ( ! ), and the Brake light have all turned on... intermittently. Some days I will start the S and they will be off and will turn on if I hit a bump or just randomly. Other days they will just be on from the start. The Brake light will more frequently turn on/off during a drive. I read a thread on another forum and someone talked about reseating the brake pads which I tried last night but no luck.

Has anyone experienced this before? Do I need a different code reader than ODBII to read the VSA codes?

Model Year 2006 with 33k miles.

Check your brake fluid level.

Brake fluid has always been at the proper level.

Probably a bad sensor, had a bad sensor on MY06 that caused a similar problem.

Intermittent faults like that are often caused by damaged wiring.

Have you done any suspension work on the car? The wheels speed sensors attached to UCA are very sensitive and will break if you tug on them too hard. Ask me how I know

Which sensor are you referring to?

No suspension work done. I installed stainless steel braided brake lines on all 4 corners 2 months ago and tracked it once (11-14-2009) and it's been fine since then up until last week.

Where are these wheel sensors placed at and what is "UCA"?

UCA is upper control arm. The sensors are probably wheel speed sensors.

Reservoir when having VSA, ( ! ), and BRAKE dash lights...

Reservoir topped off a bit more and no more VSA, ( ! ), or BRAKE dash lights...

I drove it this morning and still no lights. I believe the issue has been resolved. I guess you cannot trust that "MIN" line and should keep the level at least halfway between or closer to "MAX". Finicky VSA...

How did the level get that low?
Worn pads?
If one starts with a full reservoir & new pads all around, the level is a "pad thickness indicator".

Remember - write it down! - to drain or suck some fluid out BEFORE installing new pads.
Otherwise the reservoir will overflow and brake fluid & paint don't like eachother.
