Default using "engine restorer" oil additive

Tried searching but didn't find any good information on this.

Has anybody ever tried using this product in their s2k:
http://restoreusa.com/restorer.html

My 01 has around 85,000 miles on it, and burns more oil than it should (been running amsoil ATM 10w30 fully synthetic oil the past few years for what it's worth).

So what are your guys thoughts on this product, would you give it a try?

i used it in my older accord 180k and the first time i didn't notice anything really but u have to put a bottle in it everytime u change the oil and after time it does help i know my compression went up but that was an engine in way worse condition then i am assuming yours is.

Did it slow down the oil burning at all? Good to know about the compression improving, i'm thinking of giving this stuff a shot... I mean as long as it doesn't do any harm it should be worth trying

Anybody else???

I have seen this stuff getting rave reviews on other forums and a lot of people having really good things to say about it.

Just wondering if the s2k motors would respond kindly to it... seriously none of the high oil consumption ap1 guys have ever tried this stuff?!? I guess I will have to be the guinea pig!

Im wondering if those things just up the viscosity of the oil? As in: adding a can of restore + 10+30 = using 10W-40 ?

idk, just a question here.

^Nope, if you read the FAQ about the product on the link I posted it explains how it works, and explicitly states it does not change the viscosity of the oil.

^I never trust information from a seller about their product. Always be skeptic until its proven by someone without a reason to lie proves it....engineering way

^True enough. However i'm more concerned with whether or not it effectively delivers results than with how it does it I was mostly going by this thread, a lot of personal experiences mentioned here: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/engine-res...work-71649.html

Thread is 8 pages long and i'd say about 95% positive reviews for the product. Just would be nice to hear if anyone has used it on their s2k and whether it helped reduce oil consumption at all.

Amsoil ATM does not need any additive.

How much oil consumption is too much, in your mind?

Have you checked the PCV valve?

Its the 90 degree thingy coming from the valve cover with a black hose going to the intake manifold.
You can just pop it out of the rubber seat.
It should be clean inside and not wet from oil.
Basically, its a one-way valve / check valve, and it should flow towards the intake manifold and block towards the engine.

Does your setup look like this?
(without the alu parts inline with the hoses)
Does the dipstick ever pop out of its seat?
How much flow do you feel when you take the oil cap off on a running engine (idle)?
