Default Contact People for Autocross

There are at least 8% of people in the poll that have a barrier to start autocrossing. A barrier that a little encouragement and a friendly face could overcome.

I would personally love it if we transformed more ricers to racers.

Would you guys be willing to make a list of local autocross schools and if you'd be willing to be a mentor / contact person for noob S2000 drivers?

Chicago SCCA: 2-day school April 10-11
Milwaukee SCCA: Driver's school April 17
Minnesota Autosports Club: April 24-25

I'll probably be at most if not all of these.

If anyone is in the Louisville, Ky area, look up Dave (daverx7) or myself. We are always willing to help out even if it's not an S2000 or can point you in the direction of someone who can. We run at KYSCCA, CKRSCCA, and CincySCCA events. Each of these clubs usually offers a drivers school at some point in the year. For more info, check out

Not Autocross, but I can't recommend COMSCC highly enough. The club does two-day driver's school/time trial events at tracks in New England/Canada. I joined in '99, and became an instructor about four years ago.

GREAT club, GREAT way to compete without putting your car at (much) risk.

I'll most likely be at the Chicago Region school. Trying to convince the girl to sign up.

I haven't been around in a number of years but I'm planning to run a full CR season. Maybe make an MKE event if the schedule fits.

Here is a calendar for events in the Dallas TX. area with links to local clubs.

http://www.dfwautocross.com/

I think the events of LSCBMWCCA, PCA, and NTAXA (S2000 CLUB) are the best clubs to start at because they get more runs than ER and SCCA events. ER and SCCA tend to be more hard core autocrossers with lots of fast drivers.

All of them have people that are happly to help the newbe. Fell free to get in touch with me if I can help you get started.

I'll be at most of the events at NorCalUFO http://norcalufo.org/main/

I try my best to get everyone to experience auto x at least once. The hardest thing is convincing people that they can run stock, they always want to wait untill they get coil overs or new tires.

Evolution Autocross schools coming to El Toro (Irvine) in southern California:

February 20 - Phases One and Two
February 21 - Phases Two and Three

http://www.evoschool.com (to sign up)
http://forums.solo2.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3391 (thread in regional forums)

It's a pretty high cost, but I felt it was worth it. I had the same barrier to start autocrossing, but starting out with Evolution Phase One helped give me more confidence going to my first local events. I took Phase Two and Three that same year and felt they were also worth it.
