Default Removed windshield tape today

Well,

I finally got up enough courage to remove my windshield tape. I left my car sit in the sun for about 3 hours in 90+ degree temperture today. It took about 15 minutes to remove the tape and about 20 minutes to clean up some of the glue that did not come off with the tape. I am really glad that the paint underneath was not scuffed or scracthed, it was perfect. I might not have done this if I wasn't getting the hardtop but, seeing pictures of other s2k's with hardtop's, and the tape removed made me convinced that it would be worth it to remove the tape. Also, I should be getting my hardtop sometime next week, I will post some pics when it is installed.

I like the tape on better, but if I had a hardtop, I would be apt to taking it off as well.

Good work.

True, also with the soft top you would also have to think about how much you actually drive with the top up. I live in Oregon and a majority of my driving is still with the top down.

I like if off......but I had a problem w/ the paint under the tape. I had a couple of scratches all bunched together about the size of a nickel.

Ok, this is something I hadn't noticed before on any S2k I've seen. I'll have to pay more attention next time. Is this windshield tape something the factory puts on the car for protection while being shipped to the dealer? If so, why would they leave it on the car at delivery?

Of the two pictures of the Suzuka blue S2k, I have to say I like the one without the tape much better.

Driver Safe,
Steve R.
