And impound his car.

Is this normal procedure in Aus?
I guess none of you guys would do that

This is normal procedure. A number of states have an "anti hoon" law whereby things such as speeding, reckless and careless driving, can have the police impound your car.

Depending on the offence and perhaps the state, it can be from 48 hours to 28 days.

lol the only time my car got spotted was on the back of a flat top tow on the way to the impound yard.

Its not funny living without your car for 48 hours but i have to honestly say it has tought me a lession in the way i conduct myself on the road.

for me , if i had to choose someone to hoon on public roads it would be LH ,

however it was a good point made on the news tonight by a father that lost a son in a hoon incident "if these guys do this for a living and cant get it out of their system on a track, and have to resort to hooning on the roads , then they should even be racing and set a bad example to the public" .
