Default Current MY04+ value? Update post production trend.

Will there ever be a return to demand for the S 2000? Like other collector models out there?
Will this thread reveal the trend whereby one can spot the collector market trending upwards?
Will you be "pissed off" because you let her go and sold her too cheap?
I actually know someone whom sold his GTHO Phase 3 for under 10k, and another whom sold their beachfront Hedges Ave. for a million (now worth 3 million)
If only they had an internet forum to follow.

I would love to see this thread active in years to come like so many other fantastic threads from this forum, resurrected after years through "search".

Seems as though AP2 are becoming scarce, with only 2 currently on carsales.com.au.

Price ranging from $50k MY05 private to $60k MY06 dealer. These have been on the market for a month, 2 previous AP2's went within a week for $45 ish I think from memory.)

Just wondering if for instances sake, you had the funds for, and were looking for an AP2, disregarding colour choice (as this is limited) and lets say for arguments sake under 50k km. and in excellent condition.

What would you be willing to pay to get one.? Call this, just an exercise in gaining some sort of consensus from you the S2000 enthusiast and to answer my current curiosity, (also kill some time thru Easter...LOL) thanks for ur feedback.

btw.... Happy and Safe Easter everyone.

wow how can you be so precise, and does year make that much of a difference ie 06-09?
can you elaborate more Brad?

All things relative, I'm only speculating as to what I think would be a reasonable sale, if I were looking at such a MY year model.

An MY04 is 6yrs old now.

The MY09, the last production model usually drops $10K within the first 12 months.
The MY08 not many made, hence a $6K drop instead of 7k+.
The MY07 few round but still quite rare, low 50's given the MY06's were low to mid 50's last year.
The MY06 price is reflected in what an MY05 was last year.
The MY05 price is reflected in what an MY04 was last year.
The MY04 should be a shade under or over $40K.

Obviously you are going to get slight variences in $$ come color choices and KM +/- condition etc but I think thats an approximate benchmark for a quick - reasonable sale time.

I'd think the 05 might be a little overpriced.
The 06 is for sure.

**EDIT
There is 09 in NSW for full RRP, which is probably the only 09 in Aus.

Are there any other members looking for a refresh?

do you mean this one MY07 0km for $88,888.... sort of sets the bench mark price, I guess.

Yeah i do.

It certainly shouldn't set any benchmark price. Having an 09 built car in a showroom in 2010 is not going to appeal to many new car buyers. Yeah the car is new, but its technically a last years model.

If that doesn't move by mid year, then it's been there for 6 months and the dealer is out of his mind for A) having it sit there and B) not selling it discounted.

I'd offer 65 drive away and thats being fair. Might call the dealer on Tuesday and see how many K's it has (given they say demonstrator).

Both the 05 and the 06 are overpriced if in comparison to my purchase of the 08. Furthermore based on what the new owner of my 07 paid for it.

If the 05 and 06 on carsales are good values they might have disappeared pretty quickly. I wonder how long they have been for sale, how much interest they have had. To the sellers; I say your dreaming.

I wouldn't pay anymore than 50 for any AP2 over 10 thousand K's.

I value both your input, thanks for getting me thinking on price/actual sale/quick sale scenerios. I realize that I am attempting to value/brainstorm the AP2's value to enthusiasts this far out from last off the production line, nearly 1 year out in July' 10.

I would be interested in keeping this thread going, 2011, 12 and on.

No probs.

I'm interested to see other peoples thoughts. I wonder if there are any other owners/members with early models thinking about continuing the affair and looking to get into something as fresh as possible.

It'll be these people that really determine the right price
