Default Trackday - Hullavington - 30/04/2010

I have booked a trackday at Hullavington 30/04/2010 for myself (S2000) and son (CTR) from Motorsport events:
http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/academy-days.php

Anyone care to join in?

It is the first time for both of us and though I have read the FAQs I am still nervous. So, any support/advice on the day from anyone else going would be most welcome.

Have a read of this thread, there were a lot of newbies attending last year, so there's some good stuff.

Best advice is:

1) get instruction
2) get instruction
3) get instruction
4) start carefully

Tempting, but I really need to be ploughing funds into my house rather than V-Power and Potenzas.

Enjoy the day, you're in good hands with MSE. They run a good event and police it well having a word those that are get a bit too enthusiastic to keep everything safe. The instructors are great too, and will ruthlessly take the p*ss after encouraging you to improve your ways

Whats the Hullavington airfield track like? Also is it an open pit lane format. Seems fairly cheap for £109.

still some places left on this (I just checked) but fine weather may be a bit of a gamble.

I have faith though!

TheT0nemeister - cheap? until I have done this I don't know the answer!

So, how did my first trackday go?

Well, the weather wasn’t as bad as predicted. A few light showers which made the track surface....interesting.
Lots of Caterhams, elises porches and 1 other S. Held my end up against most of them but not the GT3 (obviously). I did have a tuition session and am not sure this was worth it but did get good advice about lines and gears etc.

I think Motorsport did a great job in organising and policing even if I did get a black flag

Would I do it again you betcha!

ps 'TheT0nemeister' it was open pit-lane (now I know what that is). I got more track time than the brakes and (an adrenalin level) could handle so, yes, it was worth it.

The drive home seemed sooo slow

more S2000's would have been nice. Next Time????
