Default Total cost of supercharging?

I've read a lot of posts on supercharging our S, but was recently told that a lot more goes into it than just installing the supercharger. They told me you have to change the exhaust, rear end, clutch, etc... Can someone please tell me what all goes into supercharging our car and how much it REALLY ends up costing? Thanks!!

This is totally false. Many of us have driven our SC S2000's with stock exhaust, rear ends, and clutches for significant miles. It's just that if you're into mods enough to throw a SC on your car, you're likely to throw an exhaust and clutch on as well. The rear end only comes after you launch at 8K and destory the stock rear end.

So what kind of price tag are we talking about? I've heard that installs are pretty difficult. I doubt I could do it myself. What have you guys done? Have you installed it with a buddy or paid to have it installed? How much does it cost for the install? Are there any other things you have to buy besides what comes with the kit?

The kit is bolt-on and should not be a difficult task for anyone who is mechanically inclined. A typical performance shop will charge you anywhere between 500-800 bucks for install (here in Dallas) and about 50 bucks per dyno session.

No, you do NOT need to buy anything else besides the s/c kit, but it's always a good idea to have some $$$ on the side just incase you break your rear

From what I understand in addition to the supercharger the Comptech supercharger kit comes with a cold air intake, new fuel pump, and fuel pressure controller. The hardest part of the install is putting in the new fuel pump.

Comptech kit cost is about $4300. Installation cost should be in the range of $300 to $500.
