Default new j's racing carbon intake

here's some pics of j's racing new carbon fiber intakes, looks kinda like the mugen, but with a large scoop at the bottom, it says that cutting is required for these pieces, seems like a deal for the air box kit, less than a grand and you even get a pipe, unlike the mugen one at a grand and a half, which for some reason king has yet to drop their price on to match the price it's going for in japan.

here's their scoop for the stock airbox

I have the best luck!!!!!!!!

When I bought my Mugen CAI, that had just changed it, and discontinued the scoop that goes infront of the grill. I unfortunetly found out when I opened the box, since king forgot to update the website

Now J's Racing offers this intake, with the scoop I wanted, for less than Mugen!!!

King isn't going to drop Mugen's price at all. Its priced that way to support the R&D of King and Mugen. That's just how quality pieces are priced.

As for the J's, it looks like a great piece. If anyone wants to order one, a few other J's items will be inbound and I can include these in the shipment. While its not dirt cheap, I estimate the price to be *approximately* $1000 with current exchange rates shipped to the US.

no, look here..

http://www.mugen-power.com/street/S2000/s2000.htm

the air box kit is the only piece that does not reflect the prices at king, at 132,000 yen, i realize why the prices are high, as i too have mugen products, but the price is much lower, in fact i already have a quote to air frieght one to me from japan for $1300.00. that's over 200 less with shipping, plus if i were to ship it by sea, i would save even more.

I was wondering when someone would copy Mugen's design. Considering how much the owner of J's loves the Mugen Intake it makes sense that they finally did it. J's was running the Mugen intake on their own race car.

Is the cutting required on the hood or maybe in the air deflector area??

I'd hope both, otherwise the restriction of the small opening that is seen in the Spoon duct is still there. Which makes this a less effective option IMO.
