Ever had one of the projects that take a turn into absurd? This is what happened when doing a simple stereo upgrade. We decided to wrap the interior parts using 3M Carbon Fiber Matte Black vinyl. My wife did the majority of work pictured. She's become quite the expert. I have to give her a lot of credit for having the patience to work with this stuff.

Center console trim, the most difficult piece to wrap and I still can't believe she was able to do it.

Overhead light trim. This piece is a MF to wrap. The center console trim is more difficult.
The work looks great, it might be a bit much once it's all back in the car though. I look forward to seeing the installed pieces. How many feet of vinyl was used?
Fully dressed up indeed. I've never been concerned of how this 3M Carbon Fiber Matte Black vinyl will hold under the sun and heat. But since this a fully wrapped interior and not just fitted partially (ie center console), I would like to know. Just me being curious, is there any feedback on this?
Thanks for the comments everyone. We chose 3M CF for 2 reasons - warranty for outdoor exposure (4 yrs) and it's the only vinyl to come in matte finish (dry carbon look). There shouldn't be any concern about using this under the sun but.....
Feedback is I don't recommend 3M CF vinyl - especially the black. There are more car friendly wraps on the market. I don't know if most vendors have lots of old stuff in stock but the black doesn't wrap well at all. The adhesive backing isn't very good - you will need to use an adhesive and the black doesn't bend well at all.
We never intended to have a 2-tone colored dash. We originally wrapped the dash in all black but it wouldn't stay down. The dash is big but it's not a very complex piece to wrap; except for the passenger sides. The black kept bubbling on the ridges along the top of the dash. We tried everything to get it to stick. We gave up and decided to use another piece. We got the gray because the 2 colors gives you a better margin of error - plus it ties the dash to the now gray roll hoops / secret compartment.
The graphite gray (and other colors) are new from 3M and it was a lot easier to work; better adhesive and more flexible.
The dash requires a roll of 4' x 6' and to wrap the other pieces a roll of 4' x 10' would probably do it.
The nice part about the matte finish is it's very subtle. JPM is doing the interior in leather and the dry carbon look ties nicely with the colors.
