Default Any 00-01 S2K owners that has had no problems?

I've heard many stories with crappy rear windows, tops tearing, spark plug problems, Tranny sucks, radio crappy, etc... But I was wondering if there are of you 00-01 owners that has had none of these problems whatsoever and you owned the car for at least a year.

The back plastic mirror is probably my worst gripe. Its like always cloudy. Stock stereo is below average. However, I have not had any issues with my car. Knock on wood. I drive the car hard once in awhile. But no issues yet. Knock on wood.

I have a 2001 Silverstone Metallic S2k with a little over 18000 miles.

I've been an owner since may 22nd, 2001. I bought new with only 24 mi on the odo. Not a single problem yet! I take good care of my window, use the tube each time I lower the top and have a window well mat. I've never had a gear grind either. True, I only drive it on nice days, I currently have only 7300 mi, but it still looks brand new. I'm also not very hard on it, VTecing just a few times a week, typically. Sorry, but I plan on hanging on to this gem for a long time.

I bought the car 1 year old, but the previous owner hadn't had any problems in 6000 miles, and I havn't had any for the last 8000 miles. I took it in for the spark plug recall update, but I never had any problems because of them.

no problems here- my rear window is like new too.

i have taken the car in for the seat belt and spark plug recalls... the window regulator is broken (drivers side), which is a normal problem with our car- and i dont care anyway.

otherwise, after over two years- it still like a new car (but very broken in!!)

The plastic window is crap and will get scratched if you look at it wrong, but frequent Plexus treatments keep mine useable. It's what it is. Same as the stock radio, it's functional, but can stand some improvement. Getting my spark plugs done next week as well as a new window regulator. These things are not problems to me, because the car fulfills my expectations regardless of these minor issues. My car has been mechanically perfect, that is, no gear grinding, popping out of gear, oiling problems, etc. A good car IMO is one that doesn't leave me stranded at the roadside, and Hondas are good cars.

Take a look at this thread:

Did your car start today?

Let's face it, the S2000 is a "boring" car (to quote one of the messages in that thread).

I've got an '00 28,000 miles with no problems I've had to fix. I've had a 1-2 grind a couple of times when really pushing it. I don't know if it's operator error or the transmission. The clutch makes the decel noise, but I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't heard about it here. I have not had the recalls done yet.

Although the tires do wear put too fast.

'01 with 43,000 miles on it. No problems whatsoever so far.

I have gotten both the TSB-54 (decelleration buzz) and the spark plug recalls done. However, they were not necessary at the time IMO (I got them done because I may want to sell it one day and whoever buys it might actually care about these issues). The buzz wasn't really noticable to me (although I did find myself adjusting my driving to not trigger the buzz), and the spark-plugs were merely a precaution IMO.

Besides, TSB-54 meant getting a new clutch

So far my S has been more reliable than my old Civic was (the Civic had a heat sensor failure in the radiator at 37,000 miles).

Oh, I did get a nail in my tire a few months back ... wasn't even using OEM tires at the time ... definitely proof that the S is a Lemon!

2001 (picked it up in December of 2000 w/ 15 miles on the odometer) - I currently have almost 12K. . .

1. Did the spark plug recall (only because it was available, not due to a problem).

2. Burned out left HID

No other problems with car (i.e., TSBs, rear window, etc). . .

Oh yeah, almost forgot. . . Replaced the engine at 6,000 miles. Other than that (and since then) no problems
