Three of us went on a 5 hour, 160 mile cruise yesterday afternoon. The high for the day was predicted at 55 degrees and when I pulled in my lane at 6:30 the temp was 45 degrees. I wore a hooded sweat shirt and driving gloves, had the heater on and windows up and was very comfortable. Given that 75 degrees is the ideal cruising temp then I find it IMHO more comfortable (at the lower end of a 40 degree range around the 75 degree midpoint) at 55 than 95. Just a thought especially for those new to Fall cruising, top down. Last year I cancelled my insurance, other than comp, on the 26th of November. Cruise On!

Amen to top-down motoring in the fall. Just blast that heater, wear the right clothes, and you're good to go. I was the only top-down car on my morning commute today and it was in the 50's...that's just not right.

It's not the temps that are bothering me........I can deal with that. It's the fact that the leaves are not changing colors. that is the whole point of Fall to me. being on the espressway and having the wall of colors on both sides of you is the highlight to me.

IMHO NOW is the best time for a roadster.

Me too. I love the expression on their faces as they look down at my open roadster from their suv's. Funny thing is that they think that I'm crazy and I think that they are.

Fall is a great time for a roadster!

I was just out with the top down at around 5PM. Approx. 51 degrees. No trouble.

sounds chilly....the prime cruising has just begun for us south floridians. Finally no more having to take showers immediately after top down cruising!

With the top down you can enjoy the colors of the season as you rush through the countryside. Few birds, even fewer bugs. Don't need to run the A/C, all the power goes to the engine. The cooler intake means just a few more ponies.

Right-on guys! A sunny day in the fifties with the top down in the Fall is fantastic! Try to extend the "top-down" season as long as you can.
