*Helm official service manual, 2002 Edition
*3/8" Torque Wrench, should handle at least 25 N*m.
*3/8" Ratchet Wrench.
*3/8" Socket Extender, 6" Long.
*10mm Socket (3/8").
*5mm Hex Blade (Allen Key) on a 3/8" socket.
*5/8" Spark Plug tool, should have rubber grommet deep inside to hold plug tip. For 3/8" Wrench.
*19mm Box Wrench with 12 "teeth".
*Thickness gages, .008", .009", .010", .011", bent at about 90

when's the best time to do this? I heard the manual suggests after 100 000 miles or kms or so?.....but ive heard so many ppl say that doing it around every 15 000kms on a high reving engine (such as ours) will make a difference?

Excellent tutorial Destiny2002, you cover all of the intricacies of the job that the Helms manual fails to mention. I did just about everything you covered, but had to figure it out myself! It's a pain to get the valve cover off if you don't take off TDC1 sensor, and move the wiring out of the way as you suggest.
One thing I'm definitely going to have to do is either find or make a set of 90 degree bend feeler gauges. I have a set that's bent 45 deg that I was able to make work, but I can see 90 deg being much easier. Excellent write up!
