Ortega Run this Sunday (SoCal)
Meet at 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning at:
In-N-Out Burger
7467 Indiana Ave.
Riverside, CA 92501
Use mapquest.com if you don't know how to get there.
We'll all relax for a bit, eat lunch, I'll pass out directions and we should be set to leave. From there we will take some very fun twisty roads from Riverside to Lake Elsinore and then get on Ortega and drive to Laguna. I'd say let's then drive up PCH to Huntington, but I was just there on Sunday and there's just WAY too much traffic on PCH to have any fun.
I don't think anyone wants to get a ticket (or worse yet, get killed) so plan on driving at 7/10ths or slower. This is not a race track - there are no guardrails for most of the way and there are CHP officers. The idea here is to have fun, not get killed and not get arrested.
Feel free to bring whoever you want. Hope to see you there on Sunday.

Reverend, you might want to take a look at this thread. Let me know if you'd like to combine itineraries or keep our meets separate, thanks!!

I would like to combine the meets, but I can't really change the time and place for mine anymore since I already had some friends send the APB out with the RX-7, NSX, Honda, sportbike, etc. people. BUT, if any of you are game - I don't know the schedule for the autocross, but usually they have a saturday practice where you can run for a lot longer than you can at a sunday event for points. If you're not in the running for points, you might want to go on saturday to autox and come to ortega with us on sunday. Steve, I'll write you more later when I have a chance to think more... but with an 11:30 meet time, the only way I see you guys being able to make it out is if you are running 1st group and working second, or vice versa. If you think you can make it out, but you'll be a little late, lemme know and I'll make sure we wait for you.
None of us are running, we're just going there to check out the 6 or 7 S2K's running laps including the King Motorsports S2K. Now that I'm looking at the autoX schedule, it looks like we could do our Saturday thing, drive for two and a half hours, and then hit the AutoX (for those that want to go) in the afternoon when the 2nd heats of A stock and ASP are running. This would mean that on Sunday, a group of us can meet up again and meet you guys out there at In-And-Out and go from there. The only alternative is to squeeze at most an *hour* of the AutoX in on Sunday before those who want to go on the Ortega run head over to Riverside.
It's kinda up to all those who are participating this weekend!!

Sounds like you've got a pretty good plan there. For anyone not sure about coming out - there will be no freeway driving on this... I'm still plotting the exact course to take this time, but plan on around 70-80 miles from Riverside to Laguna Beach. The roads from Riverside to Ortega are some great, not-so-well-known twisty roads. I look forward to seeing you there.

I've been keeping it kinda informal - basically telling people to come if they want and tell friends about it, so I don't really know how many are coming. But aside from the people on this board, I'd say I've probably got at least 8 more people. But I wont know for sure until sunday when I see who shows up. I've sent the word out to quite a few people, so I would not be surprised by a VERY good turnout.
I also invited Sean from MotoRex, but it doesn't look like he's going to be able to bring out any skyline's this weekend. They've sold all the cars in their stock except for the ones being either modified or repaired right now, so they don't have anything running for this weekend. So he might bring out one of his modified Syclones instead. Too bad he can't bring the R33 race car.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing you guys there.
