Default Getting my Banjo Bolts done.

I thought it would be worth the risk to pay $300 odd to do them, even though the TSB isn't available in Australia. I'm going to track the car and turbo it, so with the extra stress and sustained high RPM driving, I thought I'd be silly not to do it.

Anyone else doing theirs, or want me to help them arrange it?

Cheers,

Ken.

Do banjo bolts make your engine sound like bad country music?

Yes, after you change it, it makes this annoying twanging sound that makes you feel like doing the heel and toe gear shift.

(Oh boy, are we full of bad puns today)

$33 each. (The US only pay $10US each, what gives!)

I ordered 5 in case I thread or otherwise damage one during insertion. I think I am going to try to do it myself, rather than pay a mechanic 4 hours worth of time to do it. Are you doing it yourself?

Maybe I'll just buy my apprentice mechanic friend lunch or something...

A slab of VB always works wonders for me when getting bits'n'pieces fitted.

I'd do it myself. Where are they fitted? What's involved?

If you are ordering them can you pick me up a set.

It involves dropping the oil pan, removing the oil bolts and putting the oil pan back. Doesn't sound too hard.

They have to order them Japan and I have to pay for them in advance, so if you're absolutely certain you want them, I can order you a set and you can pay me back when I get them to you.

If you're going to do them yourself, mind showing me how or helping me out? Although the process looks easy, I'd rather have seen someone do it before doing it myself.

I'm in. Are you ordering directly or through Muz. He might be able to help out

We could arrange a time and do them together. Either at my place or maybe at Roger's.

I'll get some copies of the area from the workshop manual.

Roger's got a new shop in Ingleburn. Will be paying him a visit soon. We can see if we can get his hoist for an hour or two before it gets to busy or something. That would be good.

We're ordering directly from Honda. I've already ordered mine, but when I'm next in Parramatta, I'll get yours too. Should be later this week. Hopefully it's not too late to get them in the same shipment.
