AEM Dryflow Air Filter
For those of you that have the Dryflow Filter (Grey one) that does not require oil. You do not need to purchase their cleaning kit.
I watched their vid on cleaning the filter and tried a solution of my own and it worked great.
I used Concentrated Simple Green, I have a 1 gallon bottle from Home Depot which I paid $8.00 for and use it on my whole house including my carpet.
Mix about a quarter cup with warm water in a bucket (DO NOT SUBMERGE FILTER) make sure that the entire filter area is under water, but do not let water get into the inside of the filter. I know it doesn't make sence cause water is going to get inside the filter when you put the filter nder water, but the point of not allowing water to get inside is cause of the dirt that will be comeing off of the filter. You do not want the dirt/grease inside the filter.
soak for 10 minutes, drain bucket, put fresh warm water and soak filter again. Repeat this step and shake filter in warm fresh water to make sure all of the cleaning solution is off of the filter. I did this until the water was clear just to be safe.
After all that let air dry and then replace filter. Hope this will save you guys some money and the trouble of going to find AEM's cleaning solution every time.
Please remember this is ONLY for the Dryflow Filters.
