Red face Question; Is it cool to sell some things?

I just wanted to know if it was okay to sell some of his things (wheels, super charger, misc, etc...) on here. I know the rules but wanted to give the IE first crack at it and to get permission from the CO.

Thanks.

That's why the "Swap Meet" forum was setup. On the other hand, when I was CO, I'd stretch the rules if I had something for sale that I thought the IE peeps would be interested in and list it here first, before listing it on the Swap Meet or For Sale forum.

I would rather have a local pick it up and enjoy the items. I could post in the "Swap Meet" but rather keep it simple.

I think in any case it's not allowed to sell for someone else, only your own things. This is for the buyer's protection. Who does he go to if things go sour? Are you going to make it right if there's a problem with the stuff? If your friend joins s2ki and gets a membership, nothing prevents him selling his parts here.

Ron's right.

I should really find a link on the rules s2ki has placed on buying and selling on the site.

I'm going to have to agree with Ron also if these were your items then i wouldn't mind if you posted them here. These are fairly expensive items too like a supercharger and wheels if your friend sells them he will make a couple grand and $20 dollars out of that is nothing to complain about. If he pays for his membership then i see no problem in him posting it here

This forum is small enough that personally I don't think it hurts to hedge a bit if a member has a couple of items to sell, to advertise them here first, prior to listing them on the swap meet forum. Had I not listed my radio here first, Auditdude never would have come across the deal he did...nor would people have been offered the super deal on the GPS.

You're not going to find someone willing to take payments on the swap meet forum etc

That's not the real problem here. The problem is that they aren't his parts, they are his friend's parts. If something goes awry, the buyer would have to contact the seller (someone that isn't an established member on the boards) through Serpentine. From there, it could be a big mess (If you recall that whole debacle in the SoCal forums with that one member that didn't deliver on the goods.... I don't remember his name).
