Weird whining noise?
So for the last week or so when I start driving my S2000 it makes this weird... whining noise, like a high speed fan or something. I can't tell if it's in the front or back of the car but just now I realized that it happens at low speed in 1st and 2nd, and once I got past 20 mph and was in 3rd it stopped. It only happens sometimes. It's not like the TCT noise, it's more like an 'eeeeee' sort of said.
It's my differential, right? Needs a fluid change? Or maybe my axel nuts need to be torqued?
Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Well I don't think mine is at highway speeds, it just popped up recently. I'll do some more testing and try to figure out what speeds/gears it's in exactly, and see if I can find out where it's coming from.

46 to be in 6th is pretty low man, sure your not just lugging the motor?
But I'm usually in 6th gear by 40 mph when just cruising. Doesn't lug the motor at all. Probably part of the reason I get such good gas mileage.

I was asking him specifically about his gears/trying different ones to isolate the whine to one specific one...

Not sure about your whining noise! Could be anything! Bring it by on Wednesday to the IE meet!
