In a month from now, i will be trading it in for a 00-03 S2000 because i want to turbo the bad girl. i already know my turbo set-up and i'm planning on tuning it with the e-manage ultimate. do you guys know any good tuners that can tune e-manage in southern cali or las vegas? thank you

well, STI is a great car if you want something nice to drive and do some light mods. i always wanted to fix up a S2000 TURBO ever since i found out that you can pull 400-500rwhp on stock motor, pump gas with a 3mm inlinepro HG. STI's have a hard time doing so. plus, if you blow a STI motor or tranny?? OH BOY...cough up cash...lol...

same reason for me. I was looking into an STI but the s2000 seemed to be much more fun out to of the box.

actually i'm pretty sure you can pull 400-500 awhp on a sti with a gt30 or 35r. Even higher #s with methanol injection. i think STIs got a pretty tough motor and a beefy tranny

oh wow, valuable info
yeah when i went to check out an S, bullit showed me another S that he was sprucing up for sumone, it had Forced Induction on it or aka Supercharger
and he explained it was putting about 300 rwhp
the supercharger added like extra 75horses at least

so is turbo charging the same as force induction, aka super charger?
hell yeah, the S is awesome Stock!!

i got pumped when i saw that the RSR Drift Team has one in there team, and they are a real well popular percision drift team!

it be awesome to up the horsepower on an S, add a hardtop, few roll bars and sway bars and hard tires n challange the D1 lol

OP,

I'm going to say this to you and take it for what it's worth... If you're goal is to make over 400 rwhp on an S2000, you are talking serious mods. This will be very expensive for you, and your car will ultimately be (much) less reliable.

First of all, and I'm not really sure about this, I don't think the eManage will be sufficient for you. I think you will need stand-alone engine management for this kind of boost. I give you kudos though if you can make it work, and I'm interested to hear. The eManage is a cool product; I have one in my car, but it's otherwise completely stock.

Secondly, exhaust gas temperature is going to be a serious problem for you. You're likely to burn up your turbo rather frequently unless you find a way to manage temperature.

Anyway, part of my intent is to scare you (and any others who think this is a good thing to do). Getting this kind of power will affect reliability. I doubt there are any counter-examples out there among the owners. You should talk with the folks in the forced induction forum, but please be wary.
