10yr Dream becomes reality
Hi all.
Just wanted to introduce my self the the community.
My dream started back in late 1999. I was working for a Honda dealership, and clearly remember the day the first S2000 hit our lot. It was love at first site.
We were not allowed to take customers out on test drives in this beauty unless they were serious buyers.
I can still remember the day I was able to get behind the wheel and hit that magic "start" button.... got a chill of excitement when the engine turned over. I knew at that point someday I would have one to call my own.
No other vehicle has moved me this way, except the first day I laid my eyes on an NSX back in 1991.
I'm the kinda of guy that sets goals, and constantly keeps reminders of those goals. Several times a week, for the last 5yrs, I would search the internet for available S2000, and NSX for sale, read reviews etc.
3 years ago we were getting ready to purchase our first home, the CRs were just starting to appear and I had heard the talk about the end of the S2000 era. I was heart broken, since the timing was just not right for me to make a purchase like this. Our home was much more important.
Down, but not out, I continued my weekly search to keep the dream alive.
March 5th of this year I was floored when I saw a local dealership had a Berlina Black CR sitting in its show room. The timing was right...The next morning I called to make sure it was still available.
I rushed down after work and arrived at the dealership about 20mins before they closed. An hour and a half later they were moving cars out of the show room so I could drive her home.
As I slid behind the wheel, the seat seemed to embrace me as a long lost love. I pushed that magic button... the chill returned, and a small tear of joy rolled down my cheek as I traveled home.
I purchased it Certified pre-owned from Honda.. Had 13k on her when I got her. Put 4k on since March 6th 2010. Every mile has been a dream.
To this day, I cant help but look back over my shoulder every time I walk away.

I do the same thing.If you had to get one s2000, I think you made a great choice in the CR. I do love mine as well. The s2000 is a special car, nice to see a new enthusiastic owner.

I this is my second week of ownership and I am still not quite believing that this beautiful little beast is mine... Such great, inspired machines the S2Ks are... Everytime I drive it, I feel my nostrils flare a little.

Congrats fellow BB CR owner! I too waited almost 10 yrs b4 having the chance to buy my dream ride. I can totally understand how you must have felt when you'd 1st picked her up. It was one of the happiest moments for me. I've had mine for almost a year and I can't be happier. Every time I take her out, I have a smile on my face. Enjoy your new CR! By the way, what # is your CR? Mine's #191.
