1st day with my S2000
Just picked up my first s2000. A few observations and questions:
1) Freaking car is cool (shocker)
2) The blind spots stink but I read today about adjusting the mirrors differently so we will see.
3) Love driving it, VTEC is awesome.
4) Invidia V3 exhaust is LOUD and DRONES. After 6 hours driving back my ears were ringing and head splitting. I like loud but damn. It has no silencers, will they help much and still have the same tones just at a lower db level? If so I can post in wtb and see what I can come across.
5) Top gets a LOT of wear marks from the frame. Like the top material on OEM. Haven't seen aftermarkets but I know my mx5 top was not near this nice looking. Read that is normal, will work on prevention when I replace the top.
6) The radio door sucks.
7) Several unknown rattles inside, will have to do some searching and reading on this forum Im sure.
8) I've read so much about oversteer that I'm WAY too tentative in the corners right now.....damn internet.
Anyway, looking forward to the car and this forum. The mx5 community was really helpful when I had that car, sure this will be the same.

Welcome to the s2000 family.
The blind spots suck...with the top up. Top down, no worries. So how do you set your mirrors?
1. With the driver's side window UP, tilt your head over to the window till it touches. Look in the driver's side mirror and adjust as you would normally with the rear quarter just visible in the mirror's inside edge (closest to the car).
2. Now move your head to the approximate centre line of the car over the console. Adjust the passenger side mirror as you did for the driver's side- The rear quarter is again just visible in the mirror's inside edge.
Now enjoy fewer blind spots since your rear view mirror and side mirrors will give you a fairly good lay of the land behind you.
I've had my AP1 since father's day, 2011. expect lots of mechanical type noises- trans, diff etc. as you shift and drive around.
And don't skip maintenance- go synthetic everything with high quality products and fuel.
Oh, and go to some local autocross events or HPDE events to really learn what your S and you can do or get away with.
...and become a MEMBER here as well.
enjoy

Been reading up on the exhaust, the invidia V3 is obviously louder than I would have purchased. Guess I will post in the wtb for the vibrant resonator I keep reading about.
