Default 2000 and 2003 s2000 what changed? Please help

Hi everyone, first I want to thank you for reading and replying to this post.

I am about to purchase a used s2000 and I have to chose between a 2000 and a 2003, the 00 has less miles and has been taken car of very well, while the 03 has 20 more miles, but looks really clean as well. Can anyone please help me?

The price difference is about $4000 in savings. I am aware of the glass in the top, but I can live with a plastic window in the 00. Other than that I am excited about being a future s2000 owner!!!!

tweeters in the door, leather center console, i believe they changed the ecu a lil, chrome rings around the taillights, a clock on the radio, basically just a bunch of little nice touches

The 2000 has a plastic rear window (bigger window). The 2003 has a glass rear window (smaller window) with a defroster in it. The '03 also has a slightly different fuel map in the ECU.

BTW, what's a "sk2000"?

First time poster. It is also my understand that there were some chassis tweaks in 2003 to improve handling. These were not as drastic as the ones in 2004.

Get the 2003 if you can afford it. If it's within AP1 S2000s, then go for the latest year you can afford. It's almost always better to get a newer car (note: not talking about AP1 vs AP2 here). Car manufacturers continue to refine cars and fix "bugs" throughout the production years.

Of course, when these refinements/changes become so big (like those of the AP2s), then people start to have different opinions; things become much less black and white.

Lets keep the AP1 versus AP2 debate out of this thread ...

Bough my '03 w/7800 miles on the clock. I would also recommend buying the highest year you can afford, I love mine.

Be sure you change your diff fluid if that hasn't been done before on the car.

I just spoke to the salesperson about the 03, apparently the car has 21,000 miles and has had 2 owners one in Florida and then in Pennsylvania . I would be the third, the sales man also said the the carfax report has a lot of service done to it, also extended warranty work. Should I be worried? What does ALOT of work me when it is on the carfax report?
