Default 2002 S2000 on 19" HRE's -- SCAM?

Does anybody know this car? Some guy has offered to sell it to me a a great price but it sounds like a scam.

"I am the owner of the 2002 Honda S2000 that you have asked about. The car was purchased new and I am the original owner.Has always been very well maintained and garaged with very little use. The car is located in Miami(Fl) with me and will be shipped from the Miami on my expense. The car is in excellent condition. I have the clear title in hand, the manual and all the documents. We will make the deal through SafePay Solutions so we can be both protected and insured. I need your full name and your shipping address so i can arrange the shipping, also I can set up the transaction through SafePay Solutions only with SafePaySolutions."

The guys name is David Romano but I think he's full of shit. Anyone know him or this car? It says it's in Miami.

It's a scam. Most people are more than willing to take a certified cheque or bank money order but the fact that he keeps mentioning that one place is an easy tip-off.

Ask him for the VIN number and current mileage and when it was last inspected. You can get a Carfax and check against his information.

This car has been on Ebay for a while as well.

its a typical ebay scam. i report them to ebay everytime i see them and ebay removes the auction. a good way to see if it is a scam is to say you live locally and want to see the car and hand him cash or a bank check. they usually say the car is one place but they are in another place and can not arrange for you to see it in person. there is also the western union scam, where you send money and they pick it up with a fake id and disappear. if it is too good to be true, it probably is. they start the auctions at rediculously cheap prices and say you must email them before you bid.

hahaha... it sounds like the ones u find on craigslist.com:

"i'm located in england but the car's in florida with is a clean title. blah blah blah. i'm willing to ship to anywhere blah blah blah... and it MAKES 500HP!!"

IDK. i dont want to flame but the best deal is to run a carfax as stated. and what's the price?

Safe Pay Solutions may be a scam, not sure, I just read some bad things about them, and some suggesting them.

Anyways, tell him you'll fly down and give him the money in person after inspecting the car. Or, tell him a local person needs to see the car first, someone in the South Florida forum will be able to do so Im sure. If he refuses, it's a scam.

Interestingly, I got this response when I asked about a car on craigslist...

[QUOTE]

I agree with the person that said it is an Ebay scam and that you should report them. I report them all the time and Ebay usually has it removed within 24 hours.

I also agree with the person that said to ask them if you can fly down and see the car. If it is legit, they should have no problem letting you fly down, buy the car, and drive that puppy back.
