Default 2004 Berlina Black on Black

Hello all,

After years of wanting one I finally got one!!

I have been a Honda/Acura owner since 2001, started with a 93 Black on Black Integra 2 door (which got rear-ended and written off after two years), replaced that with a 93 Red on Black integra 2 door which I quickly replaced with another car I always wanted, a 99 Black EK Hatch.

I loved my EK hatch and did all the Mods I could well going through my secondary schooling. I went to AutoX's, lapping sessions but eventually got bored with her (mainly because I never swapped out the terrible d-series) after owning it for 7 years and putting on 100,000Km (summer driving only). Ended up selling it to a mechanic who is finally going to give the car the power plant it deserves.

But, on to the good stuff..... After searching for the last 4-6 months around the US and across Canada, even tracking prices and specs of cars for sale in a spreadsheet (I'm a numbers guy by profession) I finally found the Car that made me bite.

I came across a very obscure dealership add on my local Kijiji, which didn’t even give the price or have any real pictures (only a generic Pic off the internet).
All it said was:
5660 km, listed the factory options and Call for pricing.

So, I shot an e-mail to the sales team and received a response telling me that yes the vehicle does only have 5,660km but we do not have it in stock.

Obviously I was suspicious as I have worked in the car industry and wondered if they were pulling off the old Bate and switch.

But sure enough, the sales guy told me that they expected it on the Wednesday (about 1.5 weeks ago now) and that he would let me know as soon as it arrived.

Long story short last Wednesday I took delivery of the car I have been lusting over for at least the last 8 years.

A 2004 Berlina Black, with all Black leather, and only 5,660Km.

It literally looks like it came off the showroom floor and still smells new. Only had one mark on the right rear rim but other than that, pretty much perfect.
The previous owner apparently only drove it on the odd weekend and only around the suburb where he lives. It never saw rain, snow or really even Sun for that matter.
Since taking possession on Wednesday the Car has surpassed every expectation I had of it. Now, I know it’s no supercar but I think for an affordable toy, nothing beats an S2K. I also own an older Miata which I don’t mind but I now have no desire what so ever to step foot in it .. lol

I currently only have Phone pics of the car but will be taking some proper pics of it tomorrow (which I will post) before it takes its first trip to a local shop.
Unfortunately its only getting 3M and tint for now but I have already begun picking out what parts are needed to begin personalizing my new toy.

Signed,

A very excited New S2K owner.

Likeawind - I sent you a message Re: price

Jonner - Thanks for the welcome

Took some pics but just noticed that I have to host them elsewhere and then link to them. Will have to try this later.

Still loving the S and can't wait for the 3M & Tint tomorrow

Getting 3M?

Are you referring to those invisible bras? Because I was curious if they're worth the money... I have a couple small chips on the front bumper I'll take some touchup paint to.

Yes, the 3M term is just a generic term for the invisible Bra. I imagine that 3M was one of the first companies to create the product so as such it has been informally termed 3M in the industry.

As for being worth the money, I would say so but that really depends on where you live and the driving conditions.

I live in Alberta and we get a lot of left over rocks and stones from our winters and are roads in general are pretty bad. I don't winter drive my toys but I neglected to wrap my previous car after replacing the bumper and getting a CF hood. About 2 years later it was pretty beat up and that was only driving the car for 5 - 6 months per year, aprox 8,000Km per summer.

The Product they used on my car is a newer version which can be found at this website http://xpel.com/. I am really impressed with the quality and it is super thin. Has a nice clear-coated appearance to it.

I even ended up getting a very light smoked version done on my headlights and taillights. I was a little hesitant as I do not like the blacked out headlight look but there are a few different shades. He showed me the lightest version they had by using a scrap piece and showing me the difference between it and the clear. It ended up just dulling the chrome accents slightly and of course protecting the plastic lenses themselves.

I am glad I took his advice because the end product looks great.

I will try and post some pics here soon to show off my newly protected toy.

Be careful with headlight film.
Alot of users ended up with tiny cracks on their lenses bc of the film trapping heat.

Welcome and congrats on a sweet ride
