Default 2004 turbo mx5 and 01-03 s2000

ok heres the story, ill be getting my license in about 1 week. and for my first car,my mom wanted me to get a 2 seater car like everyone else in the family(cousins). so in that case i aimed at a used s2000 and a 2004 turbo miata. i know and have searched about insurance quotes about the s2000 being pretty high and so my 2nd choice was a 2004 MSM miata. it could perform about the same as the s2000 just make it look as if the s2000 is the miata's older brother haha. what do you guys think? its going to be my first car to and im 16.

Miata sounds like a fun car.
Many people here have respect for miata's.

Maybe when your older you can upgrade to an s2000 or it's eventual replacement.

Since you're a new driver, I suggest you get the Miata. Much easier to drive.

Good point^^^

Go to "Street Encounters" forum and read about the 18 year old kid who totaled his s2k and his friend truck and also crashed his other friends saab and also hit a house all in one incident.

Nothing wrong with a Miata (for now)... I credit the Mazda Miata with the resurgence of the roadster.

Get whatever you want. I don't agree with the doomsday theorists who say every young kid crashes his car -but they are completely right in that the irresponsible ones often do. I do recommend getting experience first before you buy. An MSM Miata is a very capable car too, and if you got that, I'd recommend taking it easy for a good amount of time, until skill and your comfortability with the car increases.

I'd go with the s2k. About the insurance thing. I'm 24 and haven't had a speeding ticket since I was 18. It's cheaper to insure my 05 s2k then it is to insure my 01 Civic.

I wanna know how you know!

Also, I'd say the S2k. I personally like the exterior styling, on the interior, I cannot really say which I like. I've never been in a Miata. They could be fun. That's what I've heard.
