Your link was extremely helpful, I am actually taking the S2K to the dealership tomorrow and have made a comprehensive list of everything that needs to be done.

Update! and Pics definitely will follow.

Just took the S2K to the dealership and had all of the preventative work done (58K miles):

1. Replaced Engine Oil and Filter
2. Replaced Rear diff fluid
3. Coolant flush
4. Brake Fluid flush
5. Clutch fluid replacement
6. Serpentine belt (drive)replacement (tensioner was OK)
7. Visual inspection OK
8. Upgraded (if you want to call it that) to a K&N OEM replacement filter (stock location/airbox)
9. Visual inspection of timing chain, spark plugs, and timing chain tensioner...all OK

Next on the list:

1. Berk 3" header back exhaust with HFC, to be installed next week.

Verify the exact type of fluid they put in the diff. There are stories of dealers killing diffs with the wrong fluid.

I'm not knocking you for taking it to the dealer, but keep in mind that most "certified" techs have very little s2000 experience. There's a good chance that yours is the first s that particular tech has worked on (and these are a wee bit different than an Accord).

Case in point; I took my s to the local dealer for an inspection sticker. A "certified" tech came out and told me he also had an s. I asked a few very basic questions about the car, and he was clueless......

When I first got mine, I was not mechanically savvy, but thinks to the help of this forum, I could DIY your list in an afternoon (supplies probably around $100).

Read the DIY section, get some tools, and get your hands dirty.

JDRum:

Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely request that information, I will say that the tech whom worked on my car was an older gentlemen whom has a 2005 Black S2K with approximately 15K miles. We talked a bit, and I was reasonably satisfied with his experience.

From this point forward however, I will be using either Amsoil or Motul products. My main reason for going to the dealership was to get a 'baseline' on service etc. Since the car was a trade-in I wasn't completely sure about the service history (and I surely didn't want to assume).

I appreciate your guidance!

Sounds like you dealer has a (rare) good tech.

I'm jaded when it comes to dealership mechanics; in my area, any decent mechanic can go to the oilfield and make double. It's a constant revolving door of young kids.

Enjoy your new toy!
